  • Breen Center for the Performing Arts, Cleveland, OH 2008 W 30th St Cleveland, OH 44113 (map)

Voice of the Lake is an oratorio by Margaret Brouwer for vocal soloists, choirs, and chamber orchestra that brings to life the struggle between the recreational and natural joys of Lake Erie and the commercial, agricultural and political issues that threaten its ecological health. A musical vista of nature and the lake, the lyrics are by Margaret Brouwer and Cleveland poet David Adams, with additional text gleaned from public record transcripts. The work incorporates a video created by Joshua Lipton.
