Springfield Symphony Orchestra plays "Rhapsody for Orchestra"

Conducted by Peter Stafford Wilson

Margaret Brouwer – Rhapsody for Orchestra
Carl Orff – Carmina Burana

One of the most beloved works in the symphonic repertoire, Carmina Burana is a collection of medieval texts portraying spring and burgeoning love not to mention a few bawdy drinking songs. Cleveland composer Margaret Brouwer’s Rhapsody for Orchestra is a concerto for orchestra showing off the ensemble through melodies, powerful sound and electric rhythms. Brouwer’s work will conclude our yearlong celebration of the contributions of women to the art of music as composers, artists and influencers.
